plan

It’s an old business ploy. Figure out what will bring in the most customers, announce you believe as they do, especially if their belief has some controversy to it, and then they will flock to you.

In Indiana, when it became obvious that the so called religious freedom bill faced a negative backlash, the owners of an obscure pizza parlor got on television and assured “Christians” that they were in favor of the law because they too were “Christian”.

They insinuated themselves into the discourse knowing, or at least assuming, that other “Christians” would show their support for any backlash by spending money at their establishment.

It worked at Chik-Fil-A.

When that didn’t work, they went on the conservative media circuit claiming they had been threatened, death threats being implied, and that they had to close their business and are thinking they might have to move.

The employees of Glenn Beck’s Blaze channel opened a fund raising account on the internet that has so far raised a little over $30,000 to replace the money they will lose for choosing to close their shop temporarily, or to be used if they feel they need to move and start over, perhaps quietly and less in need of publicity, somewhere else.

Obviously the original plan has not worked yet.

But with the publicity they are getting and the support for their claim to be persecuted “Christians”, most assuredly when they re-open their shop, they will have a huge re-opening crowd of supporters.

Ka-ching

After they finish the conservative media circuit, I am sure there will be an inspirational book.

Ka-ching

Once again, another clever “Christian” has found a way to make money from religion, and will claim they have been blessed by God for their self-inflicted suffering that resulted from a poorly thought out business plan, if they had only been interested in pizza, but a great one if it was to make money off religion.

And to make sure nobody had any doubts that their religious views were sincere, when asked about whether or not he would cater other events that might go against his religion, the owner of Memories Pizza replied, “I mean, we don’t believe in murder. I also don’t believe in abortion.”

So when you need to cater you next murder or abortion, this is not the place to call.
