He acts when he is caught not acting

On the day that the bodies of the four servicemen killed in Niger came home, the president was golfing at one of his resorts with the expense paid by taxpayers to the Trump Organization. He was in effect making money while enjoying himself.

It was only after days of people complaining about his silence on these men, as opposed the NFL, that Trump finally said something, and then could only defend his lack of action with a lie about other presidents not having written or called families of service members who had died on their watch, hoping to deflect attention away from his failing.

It seems that Trump needs to be prodded to do something, but then lies to take the credit for having finally done what he had been forced to or shamed into doing it.

When he skipped a GOP presidential debate during the primary season, he staged a rally type event and used the claim he was raising money for veterans in order to avoid criticism for his hissy fit that Fox did no honor his demand to remove Megyn Kelly as moderator, he spent four months bragging about giving $1 million to veterans groups, while his campaign manager insisted that the money had been paid.

However, it wasn’t until after the Washington Post reported that he hadn’t that he wrote the promised check.

He had lied to and about the veterans he claimed he was honoring and respecting.

When he called Chris Baldridge whose son, Cpl. Dillion Baldridge, died in Afghanistan on June 10th, Trump promised to send him a check for $25,000, but didn’t send it until, again, the Washington Post reported that he never sent the money he promised. Only then did the White House say the check had been sent. From the promise to the sending was a four month gap with a newspaper report being the catalyst for having the president follow through on a publicized promise.

He, again, had lied to and about a veterans he claimed he was honoring and respecting.

Out of the 20 families of soldiers who had died under Trump contacted by the Washington Post in response to Trump saying that he had called “every family of somebody that’s died” while he’s been president, only half said he had.

Supporters of Trump present those he had called as proof that he is a man of compassion, but he said he had called all, but half is not all.

I am sure those phone calls will be made now.

One mother hadn’t received either a call or a letter, but I am sure the letter is somewhere in the postal system where that check was floating around.

A little history

These are two historical people whose successors attempted to wipe them out of the history books.

One was a woman and not what had been traditionally in charge of the country; the other, one who did not kow-tow to the religious leaders who wanted their way to be the only way.

Hatshepsut was the fifth pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt who came to the throne in 1478 BC. When Hatshepsut was 20 years old she became king by employing shrewd strategies outgunning supporters of the person originally destined for the throne.

She left her country better than she found it. She did everything right, and there was prosperity. Some accused her of giving too much of that wealth away.

But, a woman who has succeeded is automatically distrusted as a conniving, scheming seductress who foolishly brings down the men around her.

She was a job grower interested in spreading wealth and creating more opportunities for people so they could have their own income. The amount of wealth she created and redirected back to those who produced it was impressive.

Few people could understand how to justify a female king. Yet she was a careful thinker politically and she was a very good communicator.

Distrust of strong female leaders caused Hatshepsut’s reign and accomplishments to be virtually erased from history.

All statues of her and her cartouches were removed from any place they appeared because of the self-promotion of her successor, Amenhotep II, whose position in the royal lineage was not so strong as to assure his elevation to pharaoh. He also usurped many of Hatshepsut’s accomplishments during his own reign, but erasures were sporadic and haphazard.

Hatshepsut’s crime need not be anything more than the fact that she was a woman.  Her successor may have considered the possibility that the example of a successful female king in Egyptian history could demonstrate that a woman was as capable at governing Egypt as a traditional male king, which could persuade future generations of potentially strong females to become kings, and for women to not simply accept their traditional place as she had demonstrated that women were as capable as men to successfully preside over a prosperous Egypt .

The erasure of Hatshepsut’s name almost caused her to disappear from Egypt’s archaeological and written records.

Now reread the above changing the king’s name to Obama, and all the female references to Black, and the “she”s to “he”s.

Then there’s Akhenaten, noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and introducing worship centered on the Aten. He tried to shift his culture from Egypt’s traditional religion, but the shifts were not widely accepted. After his death, his monuments were dismantled and hidden, his statues were destroyed, and his name excluded from the king lists because those who benefited from the monetary benefits and power of the traditional religion were angry that he had tried to change things.

He was considered the enemy and a criminal in archival records.

Akhenaten was erased from the official lists of pharaohs as part of an attempt to delete all traces of Atenism and the pharaohs associated with it from the historical record until the late 19th century when his identity was re-discovered and the surviving traces of his reign were unearthed by archaeologists.

He was ‘disappeared” by the religious and any of his reforms expunged by conservatives who did not like any challenges to their religious dominance.

The attempt to erase both Hatshepsut and Akhenaten was perpetrated by their insecure successors who felt it necessary to bolster their reigns by undoing anything their predecessors had done.

Sound familiar?

Hey, thanks guys

Hey, thank guys.

In spite of being told by other members of the GLBT Community, especially the ones who fought for the rights that GLBT people had finally won, that Trump was not the “Best friend” of “the Gays”, well heeled Conservative Gays and the organizations they founded bought the hype and the slanted coverage of Hillary Clinton who, in spite of her track record, was presented as bad for the GLBT Community, they voted for him.

Now they are seeing that he was not their friend and that he played them in order to get their votes.

Now that he is president and has reversed many rights by Executive Order, while his Department of Justice is issuing opinions that claim that GLBT people have no basic rights, and his Department of Education is removing protections for GLBT students, even Caitlyn Jenner who said this past spring,

“I’m trying to get the Republican Party to make a change”,

and when asked if she thought GOP leaders like Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell would take her calls, she replied, “I know they will”,

has now admitted,

“I was hoping for a lot better than this. And I was somewhat optimistic and I thought this guy is going to be okay. He has totally, totally disappointed me.

They are by far the worst administration ever towards the LGBT community—and particularly the trans community.

And, as if she and the other pro-trump conservatives who are now in distress for not paying attention to the GLBT Community, Jenner came out with saying it’s time

“to gather together… and fight what they’re doing.”

That time would have been on election day when being pushed back into second class citizenship could have been prevented.

Decades of progress has been pushed back, and those who did not do the fighting, but who had benefited from it are now saying all the battles won must all be refought.

Chris Barron, who co-founded GOProud and “LGBT for Trump” last year, ignored the warnings of the activists in the GLBT Community preferring to spread the lie that

“I know the left wants to scare gay people into not even thinking about voting for Donald Trump…If you want people to have equal rights and dignity, then talk about combating radical Islam.”

He, a member of a community that has been historically oppressed backed Trump because he agreed with oppressing another group.

After the election he wrote,

“This is Donald Trump’s GOP now and his new Republican Party is one that is not only open and accepting of LGBT Americans, it is a party committed to defending us. The self-appointed LGBT elites might not like Donald Trump, but rank and file LGBT Americans should know that Donald Trump’s victory last week is a victory for our community.”

Now he has said, grasping for any straw that might justify his stupidity,

“My concern has always been what happens at the department and agency levels. And I definitely have concerns with what is going on at Department of Justice. The attorney general has a very different position on LGBT issues than the president does. But his job is to carry forward the president’s agenda and not push his own… I’m certainly concerned he is [pushing his own].”

He is obviously reluctant to accept that Trump is responsible for his appointees’ actions or his own tweets and executive orders.

Jimmy LaSalvia, who co-founded GOProud, was more honest when talking about Trump’s betrayal of the Community and and he of th those who have fought for it.

“I never thought that Donald Trump was an anti-gay homophobe. I certainly didn’t think that when I met him back in 2011. But we’ve all learned a lot about who he really is since then. With his political pandering and posturing to endear himself to the intolerant wing of the GOP over the last few years, it doesn’t surprise me that this administration will go down as the most anti-LGBT in history.”

On thing that should have gotten them to question Trump’s “best fiend” status should have been his choosing Mike Pence, a prominent Religious Right politician, as his running mate.

But after teh election, Barron attempted to dismiss this by writing,

“The arguments against LGBT people voting for Trump generally had absolutely nothing to do with Trump’s record or position on LGBT issues. Instead, we were treated to attacks on the record of his running mate and the words contained in the GOP’s party platform.

“Neither the platform nor the vice presidential nominee matters — what matters is where the nominee of the party stands — and Mr. Trump has made it clear, in both words and deeds, where he stands on LGBT issues.

The Republican Party platform is a meaningless document. It carries no legal weight. Nothing in the platform is binding on the candidate or the party, and for decades the presidential nominees of both parties have routinely distanced themselves from their official platforms.

As for the selection of Indiana Governor Mike Pence for vice president? The vice president’s position on LGBT issues doesn’t matter, either.”

Apparently they actually do as Trump’s actions now are closer to Pence than the actions he claimed made him our best friend.

And, as a result of Trump’s actual encouragement of physical violence and his tacit permission for the same, when the young GLBT people begin experiencing the resurgence of anti-GLBT violence, thanks again, guys.

“Out, damned spot! out, I say!”

no hypocrisy here.

I moved on her, actually. You know, she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her, and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and fuck her. She was married. And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping.

She wanted to get some furniture. I said, “I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.” I took her out furniture —

I moved on her like a bitch. But I couldn’t get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.

Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.

Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.”

As further proof  that Trump sees women as sexual objects, he once said on live television,

“If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps, I would be dating her.”

Part of the reason for the very bad split with his first wife, Ivana, came out in her divorce proceedings narrative.

After a plastic surgeon used by Ivana left him in pain from a bald spot removal operation he entered the bedroom yelling,

“Your fucking doctor has ruined me!”

He then tore out pieces of Ivana’s hair and

‘jams his penis inside her for the first time in more than sixteen months’.

Ivana Trump allegedly told her ‘closest confidantes’ that her husband had raped her. She felt ‘violated’ during the incident but did not mean ‘raped’ in the criminal sense.

‘As a woman, I felt violated, as the love and tenderness, which he normally exhibited towards me, was absent. I referred to this as a ‘rape,’ but I do not want my words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense.’

The divorce was ultimately granted on Trump’s ‘cruel and inhuman treatment’ of his wife, and as part of the divorce settlement, Ivana is legally barred from speaking about the marriage without his permission.

In a 1992 “Entertainment Tonight” Christmas feature, while it as being taped, Trump saw a group of young girls and asked one of them if she was “going up the escalator.” The girl replied, “yeah”, and Trump turned to the camera and said,

“I am going to be dating her in 10 years. Can you believe it?”

Tasha Dixon, who was Miss Arizona in 2001 recalled,

“Our first introduction to him was when we were at the dress rehearsal and half naked changing into our bikinis. He just came strolling right in. There was no second to put a robe on or any sort of clothing or anything. Some girls were topless. Other girls were naked.”

This story cannot be dismissed easily since Trump himself told Howard Stern on the radio,

“I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything else. And you know, no men are anywhere. And I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant. And therefore, I’m inspecting it. You know I’m inspecting it. I want to make sure everything is good. You know they’re standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that.”

He is president now because he was chosen by God.

And this women-as-objects attitude and the words to support it cannot be dismissed because he did not know at the time he would be running for president. They have always been wrong, as they were with Weinstein who attempted to justify his action as just being part of the Hollywood culture he was a part of  back in the day.

The only real difference is that his actions were kept quiet until people finally came forward and people did not defend him but fired him and have spoken against him , while Trump had been bragging about his attitude and actions publicly all along and is now president.

He didn’t mean a wall wall.

There still is no wall, but Trump supporters now claim that he never meant an actual physical all, but a metaphorical one.

So that big, beautiful wall we were all going to be so impressed with, is actually a concept, a fear of crossing the border.

Trump set quite the tone at the Values Voter Summit.

The first sitting president to address the Values Voter Summit that is organized by conservative groups that are rabidly anti-GLBT, Donald Trump, lamented in his speech, that while the Founding  Fathers had mentioned God “four times” in the Declaration of Independence, it wasn’t done very often anymore.

“How times have changed. But now they’re changing back again.”

He praised the religious freedom guidelines issued by Jeff Sessions which give federal employees and contractors license to discriminate against GLBT people by claiming it is based on their religious sensibilities.

“Just last week, based on this executive action, the Department of Justice issued a new guidance to all federal agencies to ensure that no religious group is ever targeted under my administration.  It won’t happen.”

He said he was proud of his appointment of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, a man who is very anti-Gay.

“I appointed and confirmed a Supreme Court Justice in the mold of the late, great Justice Antonin Scalia, the newest member of the Supreme Court, Justice Neil Gorsuch.”

Although he recently tweeted that Transgender people could no longer serve in the military and blamed Transgender soldiers for fictitiously being responsible for large military expenditures and in the process dismissed the thousands of Transgender people in uniform, he declared,

“We celebrate our heroes, and we salute every American who wears the uniform.”

Well, obviously not the Transgender ones.

And. although it is clear he favors one religion over others because he knows he can grab pussies, be adulterous, lie, and engage in “locker room talk” and the evangelicals will support him because he gives them what they want, he also said,

“But I pledged that, in a Trump administration, our nation’s religious heritage would be cherished, protected, and defended like you have never seen before.  That’s what’s happening.  That’s what’s happening.  You see it every day.  You’re reading it.

So I’m here to thank you for your support and to share with you how we are delivering on that promise, defending our shared values, and in so doing, how we are renewing the America we love.”

And then to make sure his supporters can push his and their agendas in the name of Jesus and have their congregations told for whom to vote so that Jesus won’t weep, he reminded his audience,

“among many historic steps, the executive order followed through on one of my most important campaign promises to so many of you: to prevent the horrendous Johnson Amendment from interfering with your First Amendment rights.  We will not allow government workers to censor sermons or target our pastors or our ministers or rabbis.  These are the people we want to hear from, and they’re not going to be silenced any longer.

“We are stopping cold the attacks on Judeo-Christian values.”

Between his anti-GLBT executive orders, the DOJ’s religious freedom guideline, his first Supreme Court Justice appointment, and letting pastors politicize from their pulpits, the GLBT Community is being pushed back to the days we fought so hard to get away from.

Forget the laws that have finally allowed the GLBT Community some degree of equality with all other Americans. The law will now take second place to Evangelical Christianity’s version of Sharia.

“We know that it’s the family and the church, not government officials, that know best how to create strong and loving communities.  And above all else, we know this:  In America, we don’t worship government — we worship God. Inspired by that conviction, we are returning moral clarity to our view of the world and the many grave challenges we face.”

The Values Voter Summit is a gathering of Evangelicals, and he sent them the signals they wanted.

“We will defeat every evil, overcome every threat, and meet every single challenge.  We will defend our faith and protect our traditions.”

He was not talking to all Americans.

“Thank you to the Value Voter Summit.  Such an incredible group of people you are.  Thank you to all of the faithful here today.”

“Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Obviously this hits close to home.

During the presidential campaign, Trump made the press the enemy of the people obviously so that no matter what he said, no matter how outrageous, he could claim the press was misquoting him because they were out to get him, and, therefore, would not have to take any responsibility for anything he said.

If he made a brash and irrational statement or promise that later was seen as outrageous even by his base, he could excuse it as the press lying, and those people would believe it.

Even if the press printed a tweet from Donald Trump, or broadcasts a video in which he makes some statement, he immediately calls it fake news when it becomes clear from the public’s reaction that it was another bad idea or wild narcissistic statement.

Besides claiming,

“The press should speak more honestly. I’ve seen tremendously dishonest press – it’s not even a question of distortion”,

during a photo op in the Oval Office Trump said,

“It’s frankly disgusting the way the press is able to write whatever they want to write, and people should look into it.”

Republican senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska is asking Trump

“Mr. President: Words spoken by the President of the United States matter. Are you … recanting … the oath you took on January 20th to preserve, protect, and defend the First Amendment?”

Of course, this is not the first time Sasse has objected to Trumps and his tweet as this past summer he wrote,

“Please just stop. This isn’t normal and it’s beneath the dignity of your office.”

And even Rush Limbaugh has a problem with the constant tweeting in which the president demands people act according to his wishes when he said,

“We don’t want the president being able to demand anybody that he’s unhappy with behave in a way he requires.”

Trump need to let the pres be free.
