Monday Nov. 22d

 

This day commences with Light variables winds And clear pleasant weather Middle And Latter part. Much the Same At 3.30 Am Cryus S.Hill John Cocking Jump Over board And try to Swim Ashore the Men that had the watch On Deck discovered it. Called the Mate Captian And all hand Lowered the waist boat. Lowered the Larboard boat for them And went to Look for them heard them crying Out for help went to them And took them in the boat. They had a big bag of clothes with them And John Cocking came vary drowning At 4 Am got On board And hoisted the boat. Up At. 10 minutes past four took Some Spungarm  And Made their feet  And hands fast. And run And a  wood pole in between their Arms And Legs had no irons Aboard of the Ship At 7 Am Asked them if they had Enough Of that And if they was ready to go to work And behave they Made Not Much of any reply At 7 20 Am John cocking Said he was tired of it took the Spungarm off of him And Sent him to work Cryus S Hill Said he was no calf and Sassed the Captian at 9.30 Give him his breakfask And On Cast him At.11 Am Made him fast again Employ in pumping Out water in the ground And getting read to fill with fresh water

 

Tuesday Nov 23d

This day commences with Light variables winds and clear pleasant weather At. Sundown took John Cocking And Cyrus S Hill And put them in irons And put them down in the Steerage At 6.30 Am Let John Cocking out of irons At 8.30 Am Cyrus S. Hill Said he wanted to See the Captian he Said his back was Lame And he was Sorry for What he Said to the Captian took him out of iroms And rubed his back with Some [-] [-]  At 6 Am got the water boat And commenced taking water Cryus S Hill Still Out of irons

 

Wednesday Nov 24th

 

This day commences with Light variables winds And Occasionally Light Squalls of rain Still taking water At 4 pm finished taking water took About 275 barrels Stowed hole And 5 pm ready for sea got Some Lumber to Cryus S. Hill complained that he could Not. Make water Captian On Shore At. Sundown put the two men in irons At 7 pm Captain Came On board took Cryus S Hill Out of irons And give warm water baths trying to Start his Water Middle And Latter part. Light variables winds At. 6.30 Am Let John Cocking out of irons Cryus S Hill Still Out of irons

Thursday Nov 25th

This day commences with Light variables winds And clear pleasant weather. At. 3 pm Captian came off with the doctor and three Men he had Shipped Ashore the doctor Started the water On Cryus S Hill At 3.30 pm hove Short And Loosed the Sails At 6.15 pm gave it up Clued Up the Sails And give her 45 fathoms of chain And furl the top gallantsails it being calm Middle part. Much the Same Latter part. Light breeses from the N. At.5 Am hove up our anchor And got. Under way At. 7 Am took them On the bow. And Lashed them Stowed the chains below At. 8 Am wind dyed Away to a dead calm Cyrus S Hill Still Sick and off duty

This day commences with Light breeses from NE. And clear pleasant weather Steering off into the Southard Middle And Latter part. Much the Same Steering into the  Southard And Eastward Saw Several Sail Cyrus S Hill On duty

 

Saturday Nov 27th

This day commences with Light breeses from the N. And clear pleasant weather Steering into the Southard And Eastward At. 5 pm hauled her up into the Southard And westward Middle And Latter part. Much the same Steering the Same Saw finbacks and killers

This day commences with variables winds mostly from the E. and Squally rainy weather  Steering into the Southard and westward  Middle and Latter part much the Same  Saw four Sails

This day commences with Light breeses mostly from the Southard and Eastward  Ship heading into the Southard and westward  Middle and Latter part much the Same  Saw three Sails

Sunday Dec 19th

This day commences with fresh breeses from the S. and cloudy Squally Looking weather  Ship heading from W.S.W to SW. by W  Middle and Latter part much the Same  Saw blackfish

Monday Dec 20th

This day commences with fresh breeses from the S. and cloudy Squally weather  At 3 pm raised whales  at 3.30 pm Lowered for them  Struck to Larboard waist and Starboard boat and killed them  Middle part much the Same  at 3 Am got them all along side and Sent all hands below  Latter part fresh breeses and pleasant weather  at 5 Am called all hand and commenced to get ready to cut.  At 7 Am commenced to cut. So Ends this day cutting  Ship heading on the Starboard tack into the Eastward

 

Tuesday Dec 21st

This day commences with Light breeses from the E.N.E and clear pleasan[t] weather  Ship Steering S.S.E  At 3 pm Lowered a boat and went aboard and went aboard of an italian bark bound to Singapore  Middle and Latter part much the Same Steering the Same  Emp in painting the chain plates fore and aft.
