Our choice

deal 1

So we have this choice.

We can support the agreement between The United States, its allies, and the Iranians which will slow, if not eliminate completely their getting a nuclear weapon, or we can scuttle the deal and let them develop one post haste.

If they behave some of the existing sanctions will be lifted, and the general population of that country will begin to grow used to what they will then have, until now, only hoped for. The older generations knew how life could be before the revolution, and may want some of that back, while the younger might get to experience some of that and not want to lose it.

If Iran attempts to pull a fast one and ignore the agreement, the sanctions go back into effect, and the population will see what it had gained, and then lost again.

This could result in the people getting angry enough to force the old guard to get back on track.

The sanctions now come from without.

The negative reaction to a re-imposition of those sanctions could come from within.

The alternative is to reject the deal and anger Iran enough to have it develop nuclear weapons in the near future.

So under the Obama deal we tie the country’s hands in more ways than one, while rejecting the deal will move up the time at which Iran will be armed and a threat to the countries around it, even Israel that already has nuclear weaponry and refuses to allow anyone from outside the country to inspect their facilities, program, and stockpile.

Interestingly, the majority of those who oppose the deal are the same people who lionize Ronald Reagan who simply handed Iran weapons without them having to develop the technology to produce them.

So our choice is to support President Obama and at least slow down any such weapons development, or take a page from Reagan, and, in this case no merely hand them weapons, but motivate them to develop their own arsenal.

So we have to choose between Obama and Reagan.
