Rush, the Socialist

rush

Rush Limbaugh does not have a good opinion of “socialism”. He speaks against it often, and it is one of those accusations he raises against President Obama when he needs a broad term that rankles his devoted listeners without any need for facts or real examples.

He has gone so far as to claim that FDR was a huge socialist, and that for all intents and purposes, only Ronald Reagan kept American from slipping into socialism in the last 40 years.

For guys like Rush, anything that even hints of socialism must be rejected.

And no one needs to go into all the times he rails against those who suck on the federal teat for personal gain; the users and takers of the country.

But just as he declared that all drug users should be sent up the river while he was secretly having a house keeper supply him with his own drugs, and continued to do so until it was revealed he was one of them and he changed his tone to be a little more understanding, the same seems to go with socialism.

He condemns those things he is secretly guilty of.

Socialism (undefined) is bad even when it benefits the people who listen to his every word, and they need to reject it when it helps others.

When it benefits him, however, well, there is a little wiggle room.

Limbaugh’s property on the north end of Palm Beach is going to be used to help a U.S. government effort to slow down beach erosion.

Rush is cooperating with the Obama administration in a government effort to combat climate change’s influence on induced beach erosion on his ocean front property.

While he scoffs at climate change, Rush is more than willing to accept it for the purposes of the taxpayers taking care of his private property.

He signed off on a plan to cooperate with the US Army Corp of Engineers to use his 2.5 acre compound on the extreme north side of the island to “enhance shoreline management” and provide “storm protection in safe guarding coastal properties”.

The Army Corps of engineers, a government entity, will use bulldozers to spread mounds of sand several times per year.

Limbaugh’s property is valued at 51 million dollars.

While he benefits from federal funds to save his beach front because of it, when it came to climate change, he has said.

“It makes perfect sense that a bunch of socialists would want to take issue with anything that demonstrates the success of capitalism. And energy is the lifeblood of freedom. Energy and the free flow of energy at market prices is the lifeblood, of capitalism, of freedom and democracy the world over, and that is what they want to bring down. And the way they want to bring it down is by taxing energy to the point that people can’t afford to use it. It’s about weakening the United States and other western democracies.
It’s about creating a lesser world under the guise of a fairer and more equitable world. Because there isn’t any warming, and certainly no warming that can be laid at the feet of human beings. We’re not warming! There hasn’t been any in 20 years, and the temperature record that says there has been has probably been faked. It’s one of the greatest scandals. It may be the biggest worldwide scandal, political scandal in world history, what has been done to the temperature record, how it’s been altered and doctored to “prove,” quote/unquote, that there has been warming. There hasn’t been any, and certainly nowhere near what they predict in their models, which is all they’ve got.”

While his listeners eat this up, they are unaware that their tax dollars will be used to help preserve Rush’s estate against something Rush claim does not exist.
