Obviously the man who builds casinos was relying on any racist attitudes toward the tribe that existed in the area, like he does when he talks about anyone who crosses the border with Mexico. And as we all know, because everything South of that border is Mexico, and only Mexico, they are all Mexicans,
Local tribal leaders came out with their own newspaper ads challenging Trump,
“How dare they smear a nation and brand us all as criminals.”
Although Trump played innocent and acted surprised that anyone would have published such a negative ad about the Mohawk tribe, stressing that they were paid for by the New York Institute for Law and Society, it was found that Trump was that group’s primary funder.
It was like his latest dance routine when he said he didn’t know anything about David Duke and, so, couldn’t distance himself from his endorsement, even though there are videos of him referring to David Duke as an undesirable person going back many years.
For someone with the greatest memory in the world, he should have remembered his condemnations of Duke, and should have remembered he was familiar with that anti-casino group as he was its primary funder.
Once caught, Trump defended himself by explaining that he didn’t mean to racially insult the tribe. “I wasn’t knocking the Mohawks; I was knocking their record. That’s not because they’re Mohawks. That’s because their record is bad and was proved to be bad at the time.”

It’s just a question of time, and when it blows you are going to have a lot of very embarrassed faces sitting right where you folks are sitting right now.”
It didn’t blow, and no one is embarrassed, except, maybe, Trump whose Atlantic City casino closed in September 2014 while Foxwoods is going strong.
And, in keeping with his love of Native Americans, he has pledged to reverse Denali Mountain’s Alaskan Native name back to Mount McKinley out of respect for a so-so president from Ohio because having restored the age old Native name was a “great insult to Ohio”.
Adding Native Americans to the list of people he has insulted, like the disabled, reporters, Iowans, Muslims, Seventh-day Adventists, African-Americans, Asians, women, POWs, Mexicans, overweight people, refugees, and his Republican competition, there are not too many people, places, things, or groups he has left to insult.
Perhaps that is why he danced like Fred Astaire around rejecting the endorsement of the KKK so he would have one group left untouched that he could rely on for support.
