STEP ONE
Simply convince people that President Obama was going to take away people’s guns and that the obvious act of resistance to this would be to buy more of them. Although it would seem to be a waste of money to purchase items that you were about to lose without compensation, thereby giving your money to gun manufacturers and then having nothing to show for it, people accepted this and increased the profits of the manufacturers and their allies, the NRA and the politicians who benefit from increased donations to their coffers or because of investments in the industry.
The only way to offset the monetary loss to the purchaser would be to have the government buy the weapons in some sort of exchange so the owners would not be out the money they had spent, but this would be a rip off of taxpayers who, in spite of not purchasing guns, would be paying for them while having nothing to show for that purchase.
Either way one group would be paying for nothing.
Of course the multiple gun ownership plan could also have as its objective having so many guns to confiscate, that those collecting them would simply end the program because of fatigue.
But as we now have a new president-elect who says he loves the second amendment, and as Obama took no one’s guns , it should be clear that this step was an unnecessary scare tactic that produced profits, and seeing this, the original group may cease to buy more guns.
This decline in profits would need to be offset.
STEP TWO
Keep reminding the minority groups, “THE blacks”, “THE Muslims”, “THE immigrants”, “THE gays”, “THE women”, that the hate speech upon which the president-elect’s campaign was based and had been cheered on by supporters may now turn to actions that could result from physical threats.

STEP THREE
Point out to the group in step one that the groups in step two are arming themselves in great numbers and that the best defense against the harm they might cause would be to purchase more guns in greater numbers to protect themselves and the ones they love.
