The Yoga pants solution.

It’s the Party that demands states rights when they do not like a law passed in congress or a decision made by the Supreme Court, yet the governors from Red States run by the Republican Party have passed laws forbidding municipalities in their states from passing increases in minimum wages and making ordinances concerning nondiscrimination inclusive of GLBT people.

These Republican governors exercise the administrative over reach within their states that they condemn the federal government for doing in its country.

The same Party, the GOP, constantly claims to be the champion of individual freedom, at least when it comes to guns, but then passes law after law dealing with what women can do with their bodies, and what couples can do in the privacy of their bedrooms.

They claim the higher moral ground, but then base their discussions of certain laws on penises, vaginas, and toilet.

They cry about religious freedom while demanding that their version of Christianity be held in higher regard than any other religion, going so far as to work their religious beliefs into legislation, often, thereby, disregarding religious freedom, individual rights, the privacy of individuals, and treating people as if they are no more than their sex organs.

And now, even as they demand that Sharia law not be recognized in this country, some have proposed legislation that is the same as Sharia Law without the name.

No religion should replace our Constitution with its laws unless those laws are Judeo-Christian ones, with the Judeo part having been added only recently.

The purpose of the Burkha is to spare men from seeing too much of a woman because that might lead to the men’s loss of self control. Rather that control himself, a man is of the hook because it becomes the woman’s responsibility to make sure the men are not tempted.

Rather than worry about how much should be covered so as not to tempt men, just cover the whole woman.

It’s like college and high school rape in the U.S.

Boys aren’t told not to rape, nor are they taught limits, while girl are taught how not to get raped. To these people, low cut dresses, high hemmed dresses, bare midriffs, and yoga pants unfairly tempt men who have no responsibility to act, well, responsibly.

It’s all the woman’s fault.

In true GOP fashion, State Representative David Moore of Missoula, Montana finds yoga pants to be the height of indecency, along with nipples be they male or female, so he has proposed a state law that would forbid the wearing of yoga pants in public.

He wants to outlaw “any device, costume, or covering that gives the appearance or simulates” a person’s private parts, and that includes yoga pants.

Granted, some people should definitely not wear yoga pants, but their bad taste should not be the subject of a state law.

This bill extends the already-existing indecent exposure law so that it will include any article of clothing that reveals the nipples ( male and female) or “gives the appearance or simulates” one’s buttocks, genitals or pelvic area.

If the bill passes, it’s been tabled for now, but not withdrawn, I guess men will be having a hard time at the old swimming hole unless they are wearing a bra, and can’t wear clothing that makes them appear attractive, like tank tops, football practice shirts that leave their abs exposed, or skinny jeans.

If the nipple thing is seen to be a little ridiculous and is removed, to be nondiscriminatory, women will be allowed to go topless if the men do not have to cover up.

There was that recent court ruling that the  Eight Circuit Court did not overturn, and the Supreme Court allowed to stand. The ruling was that Nationwide’s firing of Angela Ames because she breast fed her child could not have been sexist because under certain circumstances, some men can lactate, too.

So this could turn out to be quite the knot to untie.

No yoga pants for women, no bare chests for men. Or, no yoga pants for women, but nipples are free for everyone.

Hell would be to die before this plays out.
